LINK: A cause worth noting, let's get to work designers

    From the site:

If you were given $200 to help lift yourself and your family out of poverty, how would you do it? In some developing world communities in Latin America, Africa and Asia, a loan as small as $200 can empower a woman to become an entrepreneur so that she can change her own life. Whole Planet Foundation funds poverty alleviation through microcredit in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products. The foundation has committed $26.5 million and supports more than a million people in 50 countries worldwide.

Create a design for a Whole Planet Foundation t-shirt that brings attention not only to the issue of global poverty, but also to the entrepreneurs who are lifting themselves out of poverty through their own energy, work and creativity. For inspiration, check out stories from some of the 199,659 microcredit clients who Whole Planet Foundation supports. The chosen design will be sold on Threadless, with a portion of the sales supporting these amazing entrepreneurs, and the chosen designer will get to travel abroad with Intrepid Travel!

  • HAPPY 100th BIRTHDAY ARIZONA!

    / Comments (0)

    Arizona, born February 14th, 1912.

In celebration of our great state's 100th birthday, I bring you the lyrics of the Arizona March Song, properly sung to an instrumental of Metallica's "One" - because we rock, & we love you Arizona.

    ARIZONA MARCH SONG:

Come to this land of sunshine
To this land where life is young.
Where the wide, wide world is waiting,
The songs that will now be sung.

Where the golden sun is flaming
    Into warm, white, shining day,
And the sons of men are blazing
    Their priceless right of way.

    Come stand beside the rivers
    Within our valleys broad.
    Stand here with heads uncovered,
In the presence of our God!

    While all around, about us
    The brave, unconquered band,
    As guardians and landmarks
    The giant mountains stand.

Not alone for gold and silver
    Is Arizona great.
But with graves of heroes sleeping,
    All the land is consecrate!

O, come and live beside us
    However far ye roam
Come and help us build up temples
    And name those temples "home".

    CHORUS:

Sing the song that's in your hearts
    Sing of the great Southwest,
    Thank God, for Arizona
    In splendid sunshine dressed.
For thy beauty and thy grandeur,
For thy regal robes so sheen
    We hail thee Arizona
    Our Goddess and our queen.
