Crafeteria 2010

There is a borderland that exists in the ampersand of arts & crafts. Artists probably would say that the borderland also places artists at a higher elevation than people who identify more as crafts folk. Highbrow versus lowbrow. Art gallery versus church parking lot fundraiser. Recently, however, thanks in part to the popularity of Etsy, crafts are definitely taking it off the hobby table and into the hipstersphere.

On December 3, you can support local and buy handmade wonders at the Frances Crafeteria, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Over 40 artists will be selling their wares, while Stinkweeds provides the live tuneage. It’s a lot of temptation in one place, and a great way to obliterate imaginary borderlands.
